PACS exists for those who need help. It also exists for those wanting to
help. Be it through financial support or
volunteer work, PACS connects individuals who are
seeking to make a difference with those who are experiencing need.
Following the example of Jesus, PACS puts a
special emphasis on dignity in each area of service. The
organization includes the following programs:
November 25, 2013 Introducing the new PACS logo
The incredible part is that this beautiful new design was donated. It was a gift from Fiction, an exceptional marketing firm in SE Portland that has worked with the likes of Adidas and the NBA All Star Game. They like to do something extra each year to make a positive impact in the community, and we were honored to be a recipient. They didn't charge us a penny, yet they were exceptional to work with throughout the process.
The new logo has already been integrated into new signage and letterhead. We will continue to integrate it into our communications materials, including a soon-to-come redesigned website.
To learn more about the new logo, and the story behind the tremendous donation that made it possible, check out a recent entry on our blog.
October 16, 2013 Dental Clinic & Beacon Project campaigns get their own websites
PACS has to raise $385,000 this year to meet its goal for general funds to sustain programs like the food pantry and health clinic. So far we've raised $243,167, or 63% of that goal.
But there are also two exciting new projects for which seperate campaigns have been launched. Each has a new website with everything you need to know about the project:
The PACS Beacon Project is trying to make PACS a more beautiful and responsible presence in the community by improving the look of its exterior, and adding green improvements like attic insulation and double-paned windows. While it may not be a direct service to people, it does enhance the organization's ability to garner the support it needs to sustain services, and keep overhead costs low. Visit pacsbeacon.org for specifics including visuals of the proposed changes, and the chance to vote on new paint colors for the buildings.
The PACS Dental Clinic Project is a new push to expand the PACS Health Clinic and add preventative oral health care to PACS services. For every person lacking health insurance in Oregon, an estimated three lack dental insurance. Affordable dental care is a tremendous need among low-income individuals and PACS is planning to help meet it. Visit pacsdental.org to learn more.
